Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the IATBP is uncertain whether or not the IATBP bodybuilding competition and powerlifting meet will be held October 3rd, 2020.
Rest assured that if the events are canceled, your IATBP memberships will be honored for the 2021 competition, which will be held Saturday, October 2nd, 2021. You will not have to re-enroll in order to participate.
We will make a decision about whether or not to hold the competition in mid-July.
I know cancelation will be a huge disappointment to those of you who were training so hard for the events, but we have no intention of putting any of our athletes in harm’s way.
I asked, in the previous email I sent, whether you are training at home. We, and especially our Social Media Director, Nat Viega, (IATBPSocialMedia@gmail.com) are very interested in how you are all coping. Many of you are continuing to train at home. Would you be willing to share some tips on your workout routines? You can reply to Nat at their email address shown above. We would be delighted if you would be willing to share some of your training-at-home tips by making a short video to be posted on our Instagram account, which is now IATBP.official. Please join us at Instagram regardless. Content is already posted regarding training at home. We would like to greatly expand our posting of training-at-home tips.
Here is the Op-Ed sent out in the last email for your consideration. It is written by one of our board members who is an epidemiologist, and who worked for CDC for 20 years.
I hope you are all healthy and remain so.
In Service and Gratitude,
